Inspiring and touching moments at Slough Children First’s Autumn Workshop

November 22, 2024

Last month we held our Autumn Workshop for our young people (which also fell during National Care Leavers Week).

These events were driven by feedback from our young people about what they would like to see and be part of from our previous Summer Workshop. This included a physical and mental health wellbeing day and also another ‘Chef it up’ session, where cooking skills were taught.

There were some truly inspirational and touching moments at the events including, one of our young people teaching some of the group boxing skills, something they had never done before and recording powerful and inspiring songs in the Booth Bus.

Various partner agencies played a key part in the events we held, including with the National Youth Advocacy Service speaking about advocacy and what it means, Everyone Active running a specific HIIT session with yoga and the NHS talking about healthy eating.

We saw different teams come together to support the young people and not only were there new friendships forms, there was feedback about some of our processes and also a young persons panel interviews were held in the week.

Thank you to everyone who helped supported!
