Earlier this week, our incredible foster carers of 5 years, Shazia and Asif Ali, were featured on BBC Radio Berkshire, speaking passionately about their experience as a fostering family and helping raise awareness of the ongoing need for more local foster carers in Slough.
What made this interview so special is that fostering is truly a family effort for the Alis. Shazia and Asif, along with their children, provide a nurturing, stable and loving home for the children in their care. During the interview, they shared heartfelt stories from their journey, the rewards and challenges of fostering, and the importance of having carers from diverse backgrounds who understand and reflect the communities we serve.
The Alis’ warmth, openness, and deep care really shine through, and it’s a powerful reminder of the impact foster carers can have in changing a child’s life.
The interview also highlighted the support available to foster carers, and the continuing need for more people to come forward. You can hear the full interview 29mins in on BBC Sounds – Rena Annobil Show.
A huge thank you to Shazia, Asif and their family for being such inspiring ambassadors for Foster With Slough.
