SUMMARY:Fostering Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Foster carers look after children or young people who cannot live with their own families. This could be due to reasons that include illness\, relationship breakdown or concerns about their welfare. \n\n\n\nIn March 2019\, there were 56\,150 children in England living with foster families. These families provide children and young people with a safe and nurturing family environment\, caring for them as though they were their own children. \n\n\n\nIn Slough we have a fantastic team of foster carers but we always have a need for more! Is this something that interests you? Do you have space in your home and space in your heart to take in a child in need\, either in the short-term or long-term? If so then we’d love to hear from you so join us for our online fostering information session to find out more. Just email foster@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk for further details. We look forward to seeing you there! \n\n\n\nIn the meantime\, you can find out more about fostering within this website. Alternatively you can contact one of our friendly advisors at foster@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk or by phoning 01753 690777. \n\n\n\n\n \n Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Telephone*Postcode*Requirements for fostering\n \n Please confirm you have a spare room\n \n \n Please confirm you are over 21\n Do you have any initial questions? How did you hear about fostering through Slough Children First?*Please selectCitizen MagazineFamilies MagazineBerkshire Life MagazineSlough ObserverSlough ExpressGoogle AdSocial MediaSlough Town FC BannerSchool BannnerBus Shelter AdvertQueensmere Shopping Centre Digital ScreenQueensmere Shopping Centre PosterBus Shelter AdvertPosterFriend/FamilyOtherIf other\, please specifyPlease tell us your ethnicity. This will help us better understand where our enquiries come from.<<<Please select>>>White BritishWhite IrishWhite OtherBlack CaribbeanBlack AfricanBlack OtherWhite & Black CaribbeanWhite & Black AfricanWhite & AsianAny other mixedAsian IndianAsian PakistaniAsian BangladeshiAsian OtherPrefer not to sayPlease tell us your religion. This will help us better understand where our enquiries come from.<<<Please select>>>BuddhistChristianHinduJewishMuslimSikhOtherNonePrefer not to sayData Protection\n \n I consent to the details recorded above being stored by Slough Children First in line with their privacy policy

SUMMARY:LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week
DESCRIPTION:LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week is a week dedicated to breaking down some of the perceived barriers to adoption and fostering. The week is organised by New Family Social – the UK network for LGBT adoptive and foster families. \nAcross the UK there is a desperate need for more adopters and foster careers to come forward and open up their homes to some of the country’s most vulnerable children and young people. Slough is no different. At Slough Children’s Services Trust we need more people to provide a loving\, nurturing home to our children and young people in Slough\, somewhere where they can be safe\, secure and successful. \nOne of the issues we face\, however\, is that many people have preconceived ideas of what makes the typical adopter and foster carer and who can or cannot become one. \nBeing LGBT+ is certainly no barrier. In fact\, in 2018\, 1 in 8 adoptions in England were to same-sex couples. Of course\, just to break down another barrier\, you don’t even need to be part of a couple – single adopters and foster carers are welcome too. \nTo become a foster carer\, all you need is the ability to look after a child\, so if you’ve got a room in your home and room in your heart then we’d love to hear from you. \nIf you feel inspired and you are interested in becoming a foster carer then please email foster@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk\, phone 01753 690777 or text FOSTER to 60066. One of our advisors would be happy to talk to you about fostering in more detail and perhaps start you on an exciting new journey. \n\n\n\n \n Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Telephone*Postcode*Requirements for fostering\n \n Please confirm you have a spare room\n \n \n Please confirm you are over 21\n Do you have any initial questions?
